First Days in Paraguay

Hello everyone!

Ian and I have arrived safely in Paraguay.  We landed Monday night at 11 pm.  Everything went smoothly and we were very excited to arrive in Asunción after 16 hours of travel.  Alan's sister, sister in law and our friend Rubio picked us up.  Here is a picture of all of us at the airport.

After we arrived we stayed at an Airbnb for one night and then went to my third host family's house during the day.  We were still pretty tired so Ian slept and I tried to get some work done because I have one more class for my graduation requirement.  My host brother took us to pick up my sister and run some other errands.  I was afraid that I was going to run into Alan all day so I had to be careful!  Later on we got most everything ready for the surprise party, which included a very large "3" balloon because the 22nd was our 3 year anniversary of being together.  

We then went to Alan's brother and sister in laws house to do the surprise, which I was very nervous about!  Our friend Rubio brought Alan to the house and we went around the side to knock on the door.  He did seem pretty surprised, but he was even more surprised to see Ian!  We then ordered a bunch of pizzas and all hung out together.  It was a really nice night and we were very tired after it all!  Here are a few pictures from the party.

We are now staying at Alan's house, enjoying the company of his grandma, uncle and cousins.  Ian is getting to try new foods and is trying to get used to all the Spanish he is hearing.  We are hoping to get out more this weekend and next week so we can see some more of Paraguay.  I will hopefully be writing again soon so I can keep you all updated!  Thanks for reading!
